CON-TIE, INC. Wins Attendees’ Choice Award for Most Innovative Product

 Danville, CA, CON-TIE, INC. has been selected the winner of the ATTENDEES’ Choice Award in the Concrete Supplies category of the Most Innovative Products contest at this year's World of Concrete.

This third annual event, sponsored by CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION, MASONRY CONSTRUCTION, THE CONCRETE PRODUCER, and CONCRETE & MASONRY CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS, included 17 product categories across both the concrete and masonry industries. There were two awards for each product category:

  • Attendees' Choice award, chosen by attendee votes
  • Experts' Choice award, chosen by a panel of industry experts.

World of Concrete attendees were asked to vote for those products they believe will have the greatest impact on the concrete and masonry industries.

CON-TIE, Inc. introduced their new Speed-Clip™ Rebar Tie to the industry at the World of Concrete Show in Las Vegas in January, 2004 with phenomenal success.  The new product has additionally been nominated for the NOVA award for innovation in the industry. The Speed-Clip™ is designed to provide a fast, secure, and efficient method for connecting rebar without tools. The Speed-Clip™ is applied by hand and ties reinforcing steel bar that is parallel, perpendicular, or at any angle to each other.  The Speed-Clips™ are packaged together in rows of 25 and break off by hand. Installation takes about a second per tie. The spring-loaded tension of the Speed-Clip™ binds the top rebar to the intersecting lower section of rebar. The ribs on the rebar hold the joint in position.
